About the Open Call

Analog — Made by Hand: Film, Alternative, and Handmade Photographic Processes is an exhibit celebrating photography as a slow, tactile, and intentional practice. The exhibition highlights photographs shaped by time, chemistry, and handwork, where process is central to the photographic experience. Selected work will be shown at the Middlebury, Vermont gallery and in an online gallery.

What is Offered

Selection for gallery and online exhibition, Juror’s Award ($300), Director’s Award ($200), Honorable Mentions ($50), and inclusion in a printed exhibition catalog and social media promotion.

Requirements

Works must be printed and/or captured using historical, traditional, or handmade photographic processes such as silver gelatin, platinum/palladium, cyanotype, gum bichromate, or inkjet transfers where the artist's hand is central.

How to Apply

Upload images digitally via the PhotoPlace Gallery submission portal at https://submit.photoplacegallery.com/landing/default. The fee is $39 for the first 5 images and $6 for each additional image.
