SVĚTOVA 1
AiR SVĚTOVA 1 2026 provides a one-month creative and research residency program for one emerging visual artist at the beginning of their career. The residency facilitates intensive work on a new artistic project within the SVĚTOVA 1 gallery environment. The residency structure includes four weeks: introduction and planning, intensive creative work with an open studio, planning of a public workshop, and final implementation/presentation through an exhibition and public lecture. The residency theme specifically explores how imagination through art can help solve current crises, including ecological, humanitarian, and political issues.
Accommodation in SVĚTOVA 1 residential space, shared studio, curatorial support, production budget (approx. 820 EUR), one round-trip travel expense, artist fee of approx. 1238 EUR (30,000 CZK) if grant funding is not approved, and feedback from an expert committee.
Must be an emerging artist based in one of the listed eligible European/neighboring countries (e.g., EU countries, Ukraine, Georgia, etc.), proficient in English, not enrolled in any educational program during the residency, and available for the full duration (November 1 – December 6, 2026).
Applicants must fill in the online application form at https://tinyurl.com/s1-rezidence and upload a single PDF portfolio (max 15 pages, English) including 5–10 works, and either a 2-page cover letter or a 5-minute introduction video.
