About the Open Call

Dreaming Suburbs (2024-2026) is a two-year initiative at the intersection of art, activism, and urban planning. Til Vægs, an art platform in the AKB Copenhagen – Lundtoftegade housing area, seeks an artist to immerse themselves in the local context and respond to contemporary urban development through artistic experimentation. The residency includes participation in the Dreaming Suburbs Festival and involves collaboration with partners from Sweden and Finland to challenge urban segregation and develop alternative engagement models.

What is Offered

Scholarship of €2,750, travel support up to €800, accommodation in a guest apartment, office space, research support, and opportunities for public presentation/collaboration.

Requirements

Artists must have experience in community engagement and interdisciplinary methodologies. Applicants must hold a passport or visa allowing entry into the Schengen Area (visa sponsorship not provided). Note: accommodation is not wheelchair accessible and no production studio is available.
