Til Vægs
Dreaming Suburbs is a two-year initiative at the intersection of art, activism, and urban planning. The residency invites an artist to immerse themselves in the local context of the Lundtoftegade housing area in Copenhagen, engaging with the community and reflecting on contemporary urban development through artistic experimentation. The project aims to develop alternative models of engagement rooted in social and economic justice.
€2,750 scholarship, up to €800 travel support, accommodation in a guest apartment, office space, and research support with introductions to local organizations.
Artists must be interested in community engagement and interdisciplinary methodologies. Applicants must hold an EU/Schengen Area passport/visa or be from a country with visa-free entry. Note: the accommodation is not wheelchair accessible and no dedicated studio space is provided.
Submit a single PDF to dreamingsuburbs@gmail.com containing a practice statement (max. 500 words), a short reflection (max. 200 words) on urban development and interdisciplinary work, a portfolio of 5 works, and a CV.
