Nordic Culture Point
This additional round of funding is aimed at residency centers located in the Nordic and Baltic countries to allow them to invite Ukrainian artists and other professionals within arts and culture for a residency. The initiative supports Ukraine’s cultural scene, as Ukrainian artists and cultural creators are still in need of international contacts and working opportunities abroad due to the ongoing war. The purpose is to enable a safe and secure space for them to explore their fields, promote professional networks in the Nordic and Baltic region and beyond, and facilitate dialogue. Funding is available for all areas of art and culture. Professional artists, with documented experience or training, must have the opportunity to focus on their work without distraction, meet other artists, and establish contacts with local practitioners. While there is no strict limit on residency length, 2-4 months are recommended. Residency centers can select artists based on their own guidelines, inviting individuals or small groups, through an open call or for already selected artists.
Funding up to EUR 50,000 per residency center is available to cover costs arising from the Ukrainian artist’s residency stay, including travel expenses, subsistence, and remuneration for the artist/creator and any accompanying family members. The budget may also include a maximum of 15% for administrative expenses.
Only existing residency centers or organizations/institutions with at least one year of documented experience in organizing residencies in art and culture can apply. Applicants must be located in the Nordic Region (Denmark, Finland, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland) or the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). Invited artists must be Ukrainian nationals and professional. Residency centers should have experience in ongoing residency activities, capacity to support artists (including working with more than one artist), documented cooperation with the local artistic and cultural scene, ability to offer international network opportunities, and guidelines for social, economic, and ecological sustainability. Individual applicants cannot apply.
Applications can be submitted through the Nordic Culture Point application portal. The application period runs from 2025-08-15 to 2025-09-15 at 15:59 (UTC +3). Activities applied for cannot commence before two months after the application deadline. A budget template must be used.
