About the Open Call

The ACDC Duet Xchange 2026 (DX2026) is an international platform celebrating the art of the duet. Seven selected duets will be invited to perform at the Star Theatre in Cape Town. Selected choreographers will compete for the Jury Award and Audience Awards. The style is open to all dance styles that merge with contemporary dance. Choreographers have complete artistic freedom regarding subject matter and music choice, and may perform in their own work.

What is Offered

Selected artists receive performance opportunities. The Jury Award includes ZAR 30,000 to fund a new choreographic work for ACDC Dance Intersect 2027. The Audience Award includes ZAR 15,000.

Requirements

The piece must be a duet with exactly two performers, lasting between 7 and 10 minutes. The work must not have premiered on stage before May 2026. Applicants must submit a video of the full duet they intend to perform.

Email a single-page CV, a professional headshot, and a link to a video of the full duet (uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or a private webpage with any necessary passwords) to opencall@andersoncarvalho.info. Use the subject line: 'ACDC DX2026 | [Name, Surname]'.
