A Smith Gallery
A Smith Gallery invites photographers to submit to the 'portraits' exhibition, juried by Aline Smithson. The call defines portraits broadly as vignette, profile, figure, depiction, silhouette, image, portrayal, representation, or likeness. The competition is open to all photographers working in all photographic mediums and styles, though AI-generated images are not accepted. Selected images will be featured in an online exhibition, social media showcases, and an exhibition catalogue. Twenty-seven images will also be selected for a hardbound fine art book titled 'The 27'.
Selected artists receive social media features, inclusion in a GalleryTalk discussion, listing in the online store for sales, and publication in an exhibition catalogue. Winners receive 'The 27' hardbound book, a feature story on the blog, or a $100 cash prize (Visitors Award). The Juror’s Award includes a solo online exhibition.
Open to all professional and amateur photographers internationally. Work must be photographic; AI-generated images are excluded. Work previously exhibited at A Smith Gallery is ineligible. Digital files must follow specific naming and sizing conventions (1800px on the longest side).
Submit digital images (1800 pixels on the longest side, JPEG format, 72 ppi) through the online application form and pay the entry fee via PayPal or mail a check to the gallery's P.O. Box in Johnson City, TX.
