A New Tradition for Heywood Commission

About the Open Call

Culture Co-op is seeking expressions of interest for a 'New Tradition for Heywood', a site-responsive outdoor art performance and/or installation taking place during the Heywood Festival between August 10th and 23rd, 2026. The project should align with the festival's theme of mental health, wellbeing, and healthy communities, and celebrate the creativity and character of the local area. We are particularly keen on participatory, engaging, interactive, and immersive art that shows awareness and sensitivity to historic and contemporary life in Heywood.

What is Offered

Commission for the research, development, and delivery of a site-responsive outdoor art project.

Requirements

The project must be a site-responsive outdoor art performance and/or installation for Heywood centre during the two-week arts festival (specifically for the final weekend of August 22nd or 23rd). Applicants should show awareness of the local area.
