3S Artspace Call for Main Gallery Artists 2026/2027

About the Open Call

3S Artspace invites submissions from contemporary artists for exhibition in their Main Gallery in the upcoming 2026/2027 seasons. They welcome work in all mediums and media, including video and installation art. Particular interest is given to art that benefits from or considers the unique space (25’ ceilings, wall of windows), cohesive bodies of work that lend themselves to opportunities to extend the conversation (artist talks, workshops, performances), exhibitions that intersect with a contemporary issue, work that includes an element of public participation, and/or work that helps society recognize the joy and value of art. The Gallery at 3S Artspace, voted the Best Gallery in NH 2025, presents solo and group shows. The space can occasionally host up to three solo shows simultaneously. The Gallery highlights innovation across disciplines, celebrates artistic excellence, encourages discourse, and fosters appreciation for art's vital community role. 3S Artspace welcomes over 30,000 guests annually and also includes a performing arts venue, Lobby Gallery, restaurant, and artisan retail space. Located in historic Portsmouth, NH, a Seacoast community known for its arts scene and tourist attractions. The gallery features 25’ ceilings and 1696 sq ft of floor space. Exhibition length is 6-12 weeks.

What is Offered

3S Artspace offers on-site assistance with installation, outreach, and marketing. They host artists’ opening receptions. Stipends of $1,000.00 will be offered for solo shows, along with one night of accommodation to facilitate attendance at the artist opening reception. Additional nights during installation may be accommodated if requested but are not guaranteed. For work sold, the artist retains 60% and the gallery retains 40%.

Shipment or delivery of work is the responsibility of the artist.
