About the Open Call

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is hosting its 32nd 'Solo Art Series' Online Art Competition. The gallery will select 12 artists with the most complete 'Body of Work' for awards. Four artists will receive monthly Solo Art Exhibitions running for approximately 30 days each, from January 15, 2026, through May 14, 2026. The remaining eight artists will be featured in the gallery’s Artist Showcase Section, starting January 15, 2026, with features on the 1st and 15th of each month using their Solo Art Series entry package content. The competition is open to amateur or professional 2D & 3D artists, including photography and digital art, from anywhere in the world, regardless of prior exhibition experience. There is no specific theme for this competition, and any subject matter and media are acceptable. The judging criteria will consider not only the quality and depth of the artwork but also the overall presentation of the artist’s biography and artist’s statement provided in the entry package. Artists are encouraged to refine these materials. The website provides helpful articles on writing effective artist biographies and statements, and on developing a body of work. Previous solo exhibitions can be viewed in the Solo Art Series Exhibition Archives for guidance.

What is Offered

Winners will be awarded 4 monthly Solo Art Exhibitions and 8 Artist Showcases. The exhibitions and winning artists will be extensively marketed and promoted to an international audience through the gallery's website, hundreds of online press release announcements, email marketing campaigns to over 35,000+ subscribers, gallery directors, art collectors, art consultants, art professionals, online event calendars, art news websites, and an extensive social media network. Winning solo artists also receive a digital Award Certificate, Event Postcard, and Press Release for their art portfolio. Participation aims to increase exposure, enhance professional resumes, and create high-quality backlinks to artists' websites.

Requirements

The competition is open to amateur or professional 2D & 3D artists, including photography and digital art, from anywhere in the world, with or without prior group or solo art exhibition experience. Submissions must consist of abstract and/or representational art, with no specific theme or media restrictions. Artists are required to provide a complete entry package, including an artist’s biography and artist’s statement, which will be evaluated along with their artwork. Artists may only be selected for a solo art exhibition once within a 12-month period, and subsequent applications must feature a different body of work. Artists may be selected for an Artist Showcase multiple times per year, also with different bodies of work. Previously entered and shown art on the Light Space & Time website is eligible for this series.

Artists are encouraged to submit their best abstract and/or representational art through the provided submission portal: https://lightspacetimeonlineartgallery.submittable.com/submit. A complete entry package, including an artist’s biography and artist’s statement, is required and will be evaluated alongside the artwork. There is no theme for this competition, and any subject matter and media are acceptable.
