About the Open Call

The 27th International Open exhibition will be held at Woman Made Gallery, located at 1332 S. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60607, from February 28 to March 28, 2026. Juror Nirmal Raja will select works in all media from women and non-binary artists worldwide. Woman Made Gallery is dedicated to providing a space for women and nonbinary artists from local, regional, and international communities, welcoming all women, including trans women and femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer and nonbinary artists. Submitted artworks must not exceed 6 feet horizontally or weigh over 75 pounds (unless delivered/picked up by the artist), and must be ready to exhibit upon arrival, whether hand-delivered or shipped. Special arrangements for technology-based works will be made upon acceptance. An entry fee of $35 applies to submissions. Woman Made Gallery offers approximately 30 fee waivers per juried exhibition on a rolling basis, with 15 exclusively reserved for ALAANA/BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ artists. Eligibility for fee waivers also extends to those experiencing financial instability, low-income status, or who are students or recent graduates. Requests for fee waivers can be sent to general@womanmade.org. Accepted artists will receive an artist contract outlining full terms of exhibition, including shipping, installation, insurance disclaimers, art sales and commissions, and reproduction rights for publicity.

Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $100, and 4th Place Honorable Mention.

Requirements

Open to women and non-binary artists worldwide. Artworks must be in all media, explore or challenge conceptual and material boundaries, not exceed 6 feet horizontally, and weigh no more than 75 pounds. Works must be ready to exhibit, either hand-delivered or shipped to the gallery.

How to Apply

Artists must submit entries through the provided Submittable link (https://womanmadegallery.submittable.com/submit/333244/27th-international-open) by December 26, 2025, 11:59 PM. An entry fee of $35 is required, though fee waivers are available upon request to general@womanmade.org for eligible artists, including ALAANA/BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ individuals, students, recent graduates, or those with demonstrated financial need. Each submission requires at least one and up to three artworks. Members at the Enhanced Artist Level and above receive one free entry annually.
