About the Open Call

Founded in 2004, Rites of Passage is Manifest's annual national survey of outstanding work by undergraduate students and recent graduates. Created to highlight emerging talent and document excellence in visual art programs, the exhibition features work from across the world and is one of Manifest's most anticipated annual projects. Eligible artists include currently enrolled undergraduates and those graduating in 2025 or 2026. The project supports young artists through public visibility and cash awards.

What is Offered

$500 Best of Show Award, $50 honorarium for all exhibiting artists, consideration for a $1,000 Grand Jury Award, and inclusion in the hardcover Manifest Exhibition Annual (MEA).

Requirements

Open to all current undergraduate students and those who graduated or will graduate in 2025 or 2026. All 2D and 3D visual art is welcome. Works must have been made during or since enrollment in the relevant academic program.

How to Apply

Submit the online entry form at the official URL. Following submission, upload digital images to the provided Dropbox link. File names must follow the format LastName_FirstName_EntryNumber.jpg. Entry fees are $25 for one entry, $40 for up to four entries, and $5 for each additional entry.
