Tyler School of Art and Architecture
The Tyler School of Art and Architecture invites applications for a spring 2027 residency. The residency is awarded to an artist whose work is primarily focused on the history and lived experience of North American federally recognized tribal citizens and who exemplifies the art and activism of Edgar Heap of Birds. The residency duration is two to five continuous months within the January–May 2027 semester.
24-hour access to individual and shared studio facilities, $1,500 materials budget, $3,500 monthly stipend, opportunity to teach or mentor, access to university libraries, and participation in a solo exhibition.
Work must primarily focus on the history and lived experience of North American federally recognized tribal citizens. Applicants must submit a portfolio of 20 images and are responsible for securing their own housing and shipping artwork.
