About the Open Call

The 2027 Creative Capital Open Call invites project proposals for the Creative Capital Award (unrestricted project grants of $15,000 to $50,000) and the new State of the Art Prize ($10,000 unrestricted artist grant). The program supports bold, experimental new works in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Film, and Literature. Beyond funding, awardees receive professional development services, industry connections, and community-building opportunities.

What is Offered

Requirements

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, Tribal ID holders, or O-1 visa holders; at least 25 years old; have at least 5 years of professional artistic practice; and not be enrolled in a degree-granting program at the time of application. Projects must not be completed before July 1, 2027.
