198 Contemporary Arts & Learning
The Women of Colour Art Award (WoCAA) is delivered by 198 Contemporary Arts & Learning in partnership with the Rita Keegan Foundation. This edition focuses on materiality and process, seeking artists who engage with methods of making, experimentation, and practices bridging analogue and digital approaches. Shortlisted artists participate in a group exhibition shown alongside or in response to the work of Rita Keegan.
One artist receives a £5,000 unrestricted bursary; four artists receive £500 travel bursaries; all five shortlisted artists participate in a group exhibition.
Applicants must be UK-based artists from the Global Majority identifying as marginalised genders (including women, women-identifying, non-binary, and gender non-conforming). Open to artists of all ages, including emerging, self-taught, or those returning to practice.
Submit via the online Jotform application including full name, artist name, address, website, social handles, a 1-page CV, a project proposal for new work (150 words or 1 minute video/audio), and 4 images or a 1 minute showreel.
