VISUREAL
VIIAF positions image-making as a form of knowledge production — not merely representation, but a way of constructing history, memory, and cultural meaning. The 2026 edition is framed by the theme: Interwoven Time-Spaces: From Waystations to Nodes The Image-based Silk Road: Memory, Reality, and Imagination Rather than treating the Silk Road as a fixed historical route, the festival approaches it as a shifting network of migration, trade, technological transmission, and imagination. The program brings together artists from 30 countries and unfolds through exhibitions, screenings, academic forums, workshops, and a residency program in Chengdu. The thematic framework is structured around four interconnected dimensions: Waystations (History & Memory) Corridors (Human Mobility) Trade Routes (Material Flow) Nodes (Technology & Networks)
Opportunity to exhibit in an international image art festival and connect with a global network of partners and artists.
