Village of Skokie
The Skokie Storefront Artist Fellowship program invites one artist to develop new work in a supportive, community-minded environment at 4051 Main St. in Skokie. The fellowship includes a $5,000 stipend, marketing and production support, and access to Village resources. The recipient will develop a new body of work, lead a community engagement activity, and mount a culminating project such as an exhibition, concert, or performance. The program encourages experimentation and aims to strengthen connections between artists and the local community. Artists from all career stages and disciplines—including visual arts, music, dance, theater, and writing—are welcome to apply.
$5,000 artist stipend, use of The Storefront space, marketing and production support, and access to Village networks and resources.
Artists must be at least 21 years old and available for in-person programming in Skokie, IL. Commitments include developing new work, presenting a final public event, and leading a public engagement activity like a workshop or talk.
Applicants must complete the online application form, including an artist statement, PDF CV, 5-10 work samples (images, videos, audio, or writing), a 500-word project proposal, and brief descriptions of the proposed community engagement activity and culminating event.
