About the Open Call

Artadia offers unrestricted awards of $15,000 to contemporary visual artists based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The process includes a two-tier jury, with six finalists selected for virtual studio visits. Applicants must demonstrate artistic excellence and a rigorous practice. Eligible media includes all visual arts; excluded are filmmakers making films for distribution in cinematic venues or choreography outside a contemporary art context. AI use must be disclosed.

What is Offered

$15,000 in unrestricted prize money for each of the three awardees.

Requirements

Must be a contemporary visual artist living and working in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, or Sonoma Counties for at least two consecutive years. Must not be currently enrolled in an art-related degree program. Must not be related to Artadia staff. Must not have received an Artadia award of $10,000 or more previously.
