Works & Process
Works & Process produces more than 25 paid creative residencies annually across five states. The 2026 open call supports dance companies of up to eight artists for seven-day residencies occurring between October 2026 and May 2027. Selected artists receive $175 per day ($1,225 per week), 24/7 studio access, on-site housing, a travel stipend, and health insurance enrollment access. Each residency includes an open rehearsal or community showing. Eligibility requires lead artists to be based in NYC with at least five years of performing history in the metro area, and all team members must be 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.

Lead artist must be a NYC-based choreographer/dancemaker with 5+ years of performance activity in the NYC area. All participants must reside in the five boroughs of NYC, be 18+ years old, and be U.S. citizens or legal residents authorized to work.
