The Boston Printmakers
The 2026 North American Print Biennial continues The Boston Printmakers' mission, founded in 1947, to promote public knowledge, encourage artists, and foster excellence in printmaking. This edition features juror Esther Adler, Curator in the Department of Drawings and Prints at The Museum of Modern Art, renowned for organizing significant exhibitions like 'Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction.' The exhibition will be held at the 808 Gallery, Boston University, located at 808 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, Massachusetts.
$10,000 in juror-designated purchase prizes and materials awards. Purchase prizes are placed into permanent collections at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, MA; Boston Athenaeum; and the Boston Printmakers Collection at the Boston Public Library. The exhibition also generates significant sales through patron and public purchases.
Eligible artists must be 18 years or older and from North America. Original, innovative works in all printmaking media are accepted; photographs, offset reproductions, or reproductions of artwork originally produced in another medium are not. Submitted work must not have been exhibited in any other Boston Printmakers exhibition. Artists can submit up to three digital images of original prints completed between 2023-2026. Accepted works must match juried images. Framing requires simple black metal or wooden frames (max ½” thick on front edge), Plexiglas, and a minimum 3-inch wide standard white or off-white window mat. Frames must be ready to hang with wire or D-rings. Alternative presentation methods are permitted if fully described in the entry. Shipped work requires sturdy, re-usable packaging, pre-paid UPS shipping, and a pre-paid, insured return-shipping label. The Boston Printmakers assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to submitted works and advises artists to insure work in transit. Works not protected by a frame are at artist's risk for insurance coverage by Boston University.
Entries must be submitted online at www.callforentry.org on or before February 15, 2026. Artists may submit up to three digital images of original prints (JPEG only, 1920 pixels on longer side, 72 ppi/dpi, max 5 MB). Review all entry information carefully before submitting, as no changes can be made after submission. A prospectus is available for full details.
