Contemporary Art Stavanger (CAS) and Kiellandsenteret
Inspired by Alexander Kielland's legacy, this residency invites a writer to explore the art book collection at Sølvberget Library and Culture Centre. The resident will respond to the collection through critique, essay, or experimental forms. The residency aligns with Kapittel, Stavanger's International Festival of Literature and Freedom of Speech, and includes participation in a panel discussion.
20,000 NOK honorarium, up to 5,000 NOK in travel costs, free accommodation, per diem (107 NOK per day), free use of a writing room, and a festival pass for Kapittel.
Open to anyone with an interest in artist books. Resident must stay in Stavanger from 7-20 September 2026, write one long (3000 words) or two shorter (1500 words) texts, and participate in the Kapittel festival panel.
