About the Open Call

The 2026 Illawarra Portrait Prize invites artists to explore the power of human expression and storytelling. First Prize includes $1000 cash, a $1,000 framing voucher, and two weeks of free gallery hire. Highly Commended, Curator's Choice, and People's Choice awards are also available.

What is Offered

First Prize: $1000 cash, $1,000 Fantastic Framing voucher and two weeks free gallery hire at Timbermill Gallery. Highly Commended: $500 cash. Curator's Choice: Artist's pack and voucher. People's Choice: $200 cash and artist's pack.

Requirements

Entries are open to artists within the Illawarra region. Maximum of three entries per artist.
