The Hale Fully Funded Artist-in-Residence program supports emerging visual artists at a pivotal moment in their practice. Designed for current MFA candidates and artists who have graduated within the last five years, this one-month residency offers uninterrupted time, space, and financial support to focus on studio work. Hosted by the Artists Association of Nantucket, the residency takes place during the winter months, offering a quiet, reflective environment rooted in the island’s vibrant arts community. The program emphasizes artistic development over production, with no requirement to teach, exhibit, or present work during the residency. Fully funded residency
Applicants must be current MFA students or have completed an MFA within the past five years. Submissions are open to visual artists working in any medium. Applicants must submit a single PDF containing all required materials, including written statements, work samples, and references. All text materials must be formatted with 1.5 spacing.
