The Delaplaine Arts Center
The Emerging Perspectives Exhibition was created to bridge the participation gap for young adults in local arts. This juried show is open to artists aged 18 to 35, with no specific theme, size, or media requirements. The 2026 juror is Steven Pearson, Professor of Studio Art at McDaniel College. Accepted works will be exhibited in April 2026, and the jurying for the Grand Prize will occur in person after installation. The exhibition includes a Juror's Talk and Award Announcement on April 4, 2026.
$500 Grand Prize Award, $250 People's Choice Award, insurance coverage during the exhibition, and 70-80% commission on sales.
Artists must be 18 to 35 years old. Submissions must be original work created within the past two years and not previously displayed at the Delaplaine. Two-dimensional works must be wired to professional standards (no sawtooth hangers). Shipped work must include a return label. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup.
