The Compact
The Compact offers nine weeks of artist residencies from June 27 to August 29, 2026, consisting of three 3-week juried stays. The residency is designed for visual artists to live and work in the secluded dune shacks. One stay is the David Bethuel Jamieson Fellowship, specifically for an emerging artist of color, providing a $500 stipend and no rental fee. A general fellowship also offers a $500 stipend and no rental fee, while the third residency offers no stipend but has no rental fee. Applicants must provide work samples, an artist statement, and interpret how the experience will enhance their work and their potential engagement with Cape Cod National Seashore walking tours.
A 3-week residency with no rental fee. Two out of the three stays include a $500 stipend.
Open to visual artists. Students are not eligible. Applicants must follow strict image naming and submission guidelines. Emerging artists of color can apply for the dedicated Jamieson Fellowship.
Submit the application via the online Jotform link. Requirements include 3-5 work images (JPG/PNG format only) with specific naming and captioning conventions, a list of images, a resume (PDF, Word, RTF, or TXT), and responses to specific narrative questions.
