DAG Foundation
The DAG Prize celebrates innovation in the arts by supporting writers who aim to publish a second book of prose in the U.S. written in English. The program seeks projects that demonstrate artistic innovation and provides support to further literary ambitions. Applicants must have published exactly one book of prose for an adult readership prior to the deadline and must not have a second book under contract.
Recognition and award through the DAG Prize
Applicants must reside in the United States and have published one book of prose for an adult readership with a nationally distributed U.S. press. Online and self-publications are not eligible. Applicants must not have won or been shortlisted for major awards such as the Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, or Booker Prize, and must not have a second book of prose published or under contract by the deadline.
Applications must be submitted through the DAG Foundation online portal. Required materials include an author bio (250 words max), information about the first book, a CV or résumé (3 pages max), a description of the new project (500 words max), and an excerpt from the new project (25 pages max).
