Leap Dance Festival and Culture Liverpool
Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council and Leap Dance Festival are supporting the development of new dance performance work via their Dance Commission Grant. Three main strands are available: commissions for LGBTQIA+ artists living and working in Liverpool (with one grant ringfenced for an emerging artist), dance film commissions for new work to be shared online and at festival events, and community dance commissions working with Global Majority women within dance forms of the African Diaspora. The fund is supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and managed by Chaos Arts CIC.
Grant commissions of between £1000 to £2000
Artists must develop dance practice, create new work for live performance or film, or impact communities. Successful applicants must be available to perform as part of Leap Dance Festival between 24th April and 9th May 2026. Specific strands have targeted requirements including LGBTQIA+ identity, location in Liverpool, or being a Global Majority female artist.
