Indigo Arts Alliance
The David C. Driskell Fellowship identifies talented Maine-based and Maine-rooted artists of color for a six-month residency. Selected fellows receive a 500 sq foot studio space and a $700 grant to enhance their practice. The program emphasizes artistic merit, creative integrity, and community engagement, offering support through IAA staff and mid-residency studio visits with mentors and arts professionals.

Applicants must be descendants of African nations, Indigenous Peoples, Latinx, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern, or Pacific Rim communities. Artists must be 21+ years old, Maine-based or Maine-rooted, not enrolled in a full-time academic program, and have up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations.
Applicants must submit their work samples and required materials via the Indigo Arts Alliance Submittable link. Evaluation is based on artistic merit, creative integrity, and engagement with defined communities.
