Mother's Milk Residency
Mother’s Milk is an interdisciplinary residency (2, 4, 6 weeks) designed to support visual artists, sound artists/composers, dancer/choreographers, writers, or other creatives pursuing innovative and experimental work. The program prioritizes process over product and provides residents with time and space to work alongside others from different backgrounds. The residency is located on 15 wooded acres of a former dairy farm, featuring a 1,500 sq. ft. hay barn studio and a renovated 1898 farmhouse. The grounds are suitable for performances and installations.
Access to a 1,500 sq. ft. hay barn studio, housing in a renovated 1898 farmhouse, access to 15 acres of wooded grounds, and transportation to/from Wichita airport or Newton Amtrak station at arrival and departure.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and cannot be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Residents must reside on-site for the duration of the residency. Artists are responsible for their own travel, supplies, equipment, and meals. International applicants must demonstrate English proficiency and obtain necessary visas.
Applicants must submit a project proposal (max 500 words), a current CV, samples of recent work completed in the last two years, contact information for two professional references, and preferred residency dates through the CaFE platform.
