About the Open Call

Selected artists are provided with a fully furnished live/work space, a monthly stipend, and institutional support to develop their work over a 2–3 month residency. The program emphasizes process, research, and public engagement, encouraging participants to create new work and contribute to a public-facing event or program during their stay. It is particularly aimed at artists interested in dialogue, experimentation, and shaping future iterations of the residency through feedback.

Requirements

Applicants must submit their materials through SlideRoom, typically including a portfolio and project proposal. The program is open to artists within a defined geographic radius (around 500 miles from Richmond), and preference may be given to those with prior residency experience or a clearly defined project goal.
