About the Open Call

10×10 Photobooks invites proposals for photobook research on Black identity, Africa and the African diaspora. Research can include classic bound books, portfolios, personal albums, unpublished books, zines, digital media, scrapbooks, posters, or other ephemera. Grantees are expected to present their findings via a Zoom presentation and a 1500-word printed essay.

What is Offered

$2,500 grant paid in two increments, plus support with in-progress reviews and networking.

Requirements

Applicants can be researchers, writers, editors, or curators regardless of nationality or academic status. Research must be new (not currently funded) and the final work must be in English.

Applicants must complete the online grant form in English, including a project description of less than 1000 words and a brief bio, by midnight ET on 23 March 2026.
